Well....What up, Xanga? It's been a while. You thought I was gone for good, didn't you? So did I. In fact, I kind of thought that I was part of some sort of mass exodus from Xanga. I'm not sure why I thought that. Perhaps I'm just ego-centric. I was suffering from Internet Overdose and didn't have time for it all, so I just assumed everyone else was in the same state. In any case, I was wrong. I've returned to find that several of my friends are still actively posting. Xanga is not at all the ghost town I'd imagined it to be. So, I'm back...for the moment. If you care at all about what I've been up to all this time, you can glance through my Diaryland site.
Now that we've got that out of the way, I'm sure you're desperately curious to know who you have to thank for my unexpected return. I'll tell you. Their names are Rhett and Link. I became acquainted with their work about a month ago when I stumbled upon a humorous music video they did, which drew its lyrics from American Idol Season 7 performer Alexis Cohen's exit speech. The related videos feature of the YouTube is golden, and it led me through some of their most popular stuff, and soon to their web site, rhettandlink.com. I was hooked within an hour. They recently made their debut on Xanga. In their honor, I return to make my own appearance. Go. Say hello to them. Wish them well. Tell them Zaga sent you. Or, just tell them they rock, and go subscribe to them on YouTube.
If you haven't yet left this obsessive rant to check them out, please allow me to convince you to do so. Here are 3 reasons you should join me in my quest to help Rhett and Link achieve global comedic domination:
1. They're funny. Who doesn't like to laugh? I like to laugh. Don't you like to laugh? Rhett and Link make me laugh.
2. They're talented. They sing, write songs, play various instruments, shoot and edit their own videos, and broadcast a live web show each week. Can you do all those things?
3. They're family friendly. Some people try the clean humor thing, but aren't really very funny. And there are tons of hilarious comedians whose work I would never consider showing to my 9-year-old cousin. These guys provide family friendly humor that is actually humorous. I appreciate that.
Now, why are you still here? I'm out like the gout. Zaga
It appears that Xanga and I have had a falling out, partly due to the
fact that I have no life these days, and partly because everyone knows
Facebook's where it's at.
Actually, at work on Saturday, Deante and I decided to invent our own internet phenomenon. The title?
"MyFace"....or "SpaceBook".....or possibly "My Facebook Space"
So.....we'll see how that works out for us. I think it's going to be big.
In other news, SO many movies this summer that I'd like to go see, if
only I had the time. Missing out on Transformers (which I hear is
supergood), Fantastic Four, AND Hairspray, which I'm superpumped to
see. I'm all about them bringing back the musical.
In other, other news, I'm totally missing out on my Tour this
year. Lame. Not even joking. The lamest of the
lame. I havn't missed it in 6 years. I watched Lance win
every single one of his last five. Even when I went on Senior
Wilderness, my mom copied it for the week. I'm not quite that obsessed these days, but I still miss it. It was my summer thing. Now my summer thing is working.
And I suppose that since it appears to be God's Will for me, I should
be okay with it. Thankful. I certainly am in need of the
money. God's good at providing for me. He loves me even
more than this earth that He's clothed in such amazing splendor (which
I'm appreciating more and more as my life progresses). His plan
is more awesome than I could ever begin to comprehend.....
...hmmm, suddenly missing out on the TDF and camping and movies doesn't
seem like such a big deal. I never was very good at seeing the
big picture...but I'm learning. I hope.
At this particular juncture, I am feeling quite poorly. Perhaps I am about to die. Oh, sweet relief.
Just kidding. Except about the not feeling well part. That is thoroughly true.
So, if you know me well, you might know I have a great love for a
little-know show that ran for 40 episodes in the summer of 2003 called The Brendan Leonard Show.
If ABC would just put the darn thing on DVD, I'd be quite the scrawny
stamp-collector (see Florida mad lib for reference) or at least a happy
camper, but they won't...for now...so I'm making due with the clips I
find here and there. Like the one about That Guy. Scary.
Well, feeling slightly better, at least. Nothing like a BLS clip to help cure what ails you, no?
